Get to know Amelia Watts
How did you get started in the business of fitness/wellness?
I have been interested in sport, fitness and health right from my days at
school. I always new I wanted to work in this industry and when I finished
at University I just jumped straight in.
What do you love about your job?
There are many, many things I love about my job, but I suppose top of the
list would be seeing the happiness in client’s faces when they achieve
something that they have never done before.
What’s been the most rewarding moment of your career?
Helping a client of mine avoid heart surgery. His specialist said that if he
carried on with his current lifestyle he would be in hospital in a few
weeks. That was over a year ago now and he hasn’t had any surgery and a few
weeks ago his specialist told him he did need to see him anymore. Knowing
that what we did together has made such a difference really means so much to
me.
Healthy living is great – do you have any vices?
I’m a typical girl — CHOCOLATE! It’s actually banned from the house at the
moment!
How would you describe yourself?
Bubbly and energetic.
Favourite food/drink
My favourite dish is a chorizo and butterbean stew that my boyfriend cooks.
It’s just simply the yummiest thing in the world. As regards to drink I’m a
simple person and I only drink mineral water.
Favourite season
Spring.
Pet hates/what would you like to live without?
People playing music out of their mobile phones on a bus. It drives me mad!

Learning.

Recently I have been hooked on Planet Earth, but I also try and take every
opportunity to watch all kinds of sport on TV.
What do you do to really relax?
If I’ve had a really stressful day or week I try to head out to visit my
parents in the country and go for a nice long walk. I find you can’t help
but relax with nature around you.
What or who makes you happiest in your life right now?
My family. They are the most important people in my life, I would be lost
without all of them!
What do you most want to achieve during your lifetime?
Happiness. That is being happy myself and making others around me happy as
well.
What pearls of wisdom can you offer to others that you hope will make a
difference?
It’s the little changes that make the difference. Small steps that you can
easily follow are always more successful than large unobtainable leaps.
When you were little, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a professional badminton player until my body let me down and
injury forced me to stop.
